Parish Clerk Vacancy

Scopwick and Kirkby Green Parish Council is seeking a new Parish Clerk and Proper Officer 

The role is a flexible 36 hours per month and is subject to the National Association of Local Councils April 2020 pay scales, LC1 scp 10-16 (£21,695-£24,432 pro rata)

Scopwick and Kirkby Green is a small Lincolnshire parish comprising of two neighbouring villages with a total population of just over 500. The Parish Council currently consists of seven  councillors and is very active with good working relationships with the District and County Councils.  The Parish Council is responsible for the management of a play area, grass cutting and general village maintenance. 
Applications are invited from suitably experienced persons with interest in the local community for the position of Parish Clerk and Proper Officer.
This is an exciting post for a community orientated individual who would like to make a difference to our community and feel as though they are contributing positively to our quality of life.
You will be responsible for the overall administration of the Council’s business including; implementing Council decisions & policies; attending and administering Council and Committee meetings; maintaining up to date financial records; preparation of annual budget; completion of annual audit and return; maintenance of the council’s website and management of all communications with the council.
You will be expected to work from home and a flexible approach is essential as demand fluctuates throughout the month and you will be required to attend occasional evening meetings.  Applicants will be self-motivated, highly organised and committed to delivering excellent customer service to the residents of Scopwick and Kirkby Green. 
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in a customer facing role and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will also ideally possess excellent administrative, organisational and IT skills. The formal CiLCA qualification would be an advantage, although support to achieve the qualification will be provided on completion of one year’s service.  Ideally, you will be able to start the role straightaway.
