Scopwick and Kirkby Green Parish Council has an active Community Speed Watch group who work with Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership to improve road safety through the villages.

This includes a group of trained volunteers who operate a mobile handheld speed watch device to monitor traffic in areas of high risk.

Two flashing speed signs are installed in the Parish.  One is to the south of Scopwick on the B1188 and the other has three locations which it is rotated through; the first is at the entrance to Scopwick on Heath Road, the second on Main Street Scopwick near The Limes, and the third in Kirkby Green just past the lane to the ford.  Data from the fixed device is collated and reported to the Parish Council and monthly summaries of the data can be found below.  Results of the mobile handheld device are submitted to LRSP to monitor traffic and to support future highways development (such as the current application to extend the 30mph zone on the B1188 to Bloxholme Road) as well as to the Police for the issuing of speed warning letters to offending drivers and follow up action where appropriate.

Additional volunteers are always welcome.  If you are interested in becoming a trained volunteer member of Community Speed Watch please contact the Parish Clerk (clerkscopwick@gmail.com)
