3. Financial Report – Jane

No change since last report. Still awaiting refund of £177.81. £2633.50 current balance.

4. Inspection Report

The latest playing field inspection was carried out on 10/11/20, with the following observations:

 The toddler area is still muddy but no longer as wet as last week and I believe no longer presents a slipping hazard. Once the area has been levelled, new bark added and some of the boards around the base of the fence replaced this area will be complete.

 The tape and notice re closure have been removed from the toddler area although a closure notice is still on the main gate. Clerk’s note: the red closure notice is on the Toddlers play area gate, but the tape has been removed (possibly by contractors on Monday)

 The field needs levelling and reseeding where the birds have disturbed the surface. Playing field will need rolling once the birds have stopped damaging it then possibly reseeding next spring. David will speak with Paul Scholey regarding rolling the ground.

5. Update on Play Equipment Works

Phase 1 of the project is complete with 4 new pieces of play equipment.

It was agreed at last meeting that Jill would request contractors to leave soil out from footings to be used for filling holes in playing fields but this hasn’t been done as it appears that the earth had already been removed from the site.

The new net tunnel is shorter than the piece it replaced and needs an extra two log ‘stepping stones’ to the right of the tunnel (looking from the centre of the trail). Jules to discuss with Jill re H&S and take advice on what is needed.

Spare bolt safety covers are needed in case of damage. Jules to query with Creative Play

The interim report has been submitted to FCC and invoice will be forwarded to them with claim form this week.

New bark for the toddlers’ play park will be delivered on Thursday and volunteers are needed to level off the surface and spread the bark. Jane and David possibly on Friday and other volunteers from 9am on Saturday 14/11/20. Rosa to call round for more volunteers for Saturday.

6. Fundraising

Scopwick Ramble – Guy gave an update on the 2 routes identified. Rosa has designed poster and awaits agreement regarding entry charge, sale of refreshments etc. Voluntary contributions to be invited to support the playing field. Mince pie and hot drink to be included. Event will be dictated by Covid restrictions at the time, including considering creating event so that attendees can ‘check in’, wearing of face masks, social distancing etc. Rosa will finish poster and circulate before posting on social media. All members to print copies of posters to place where suitable.

New Football Goals – Mark has identified suppliers registered with FA and complying with safety standards. Pitch does not warrant full size goals; junior goals would be more suitable.

Fixed goals (cemented into ground) £800-900, mobile goals (on wheels) £1200-1300. Group agreed they preferred the mobile goals. Funding may be possible through Sport England and National Lottery possible sources (but not currently doing anything not Covid related). Mark to send details of recommended mobile goals to group.

7. Items for inclusion on agenda for next meeting

Outdoor gym equipment – Guy to research and collate thoughts from group

8. Next Meeting Date

7pm, 9th February 2021. Village Hall (or Zoom if Covid restrictions still in place)

Chairman reported he had received a complaint regarding someone exercising a bird of prey on the playing field. The group agreed that permission should have been sought from the Committee. Jules to research and report to group.
